Duke's Counter
Ahead of its highly anticipated Cleveland Park debut later this fall, Cork Wine Bar & Market will host a special wine-tasting pop-up at Duke’s Counter on Tuesday, October 14 from 5:00–8:00 p.m.
Guests are invited to join Cork’s co-owners Diane Gross and Khalid Pitts for a complimentary tasting of four wines, with the option to purchase full pours by the glass and enjoy suggested pairings from Duke’s Counter’s menu. The one-night event offers a first taste of what’s to come just up the street, as Cork prepares to open its newest brick-and-mortar location at 3504 Connecticut Avenue NW.
“We’re so grateful to Daniel (Kramer) and the Duke’s team for welcoming us into the neighborhood with open arms,” said Diane Gross, co-owner of Cork Wine Bar & Market. “Cleveland Park and Woodley Park have such strong community ties, and we can’t wait to pour our first glasses as neighbors.”
“We’re thrilled to host Diane, Khalid, and the Cork crew as they get ready to join our stretch of Connecticut Avenue,” added Daniel Kramer, owner of Duke’s Counter. “This is a perfect preview of what’s ahead for the neighborhood.”
Located steps from the Cleveland Park Metro, the upcoming Cork will mark the brand’s third location after its acclaimed 14th Street and Spring Valley outposts. The new space will feature a 20-seat wine bar, curated retail selection, and a mezzanine-level tasting room for intimate classes, pairings, and events — continuing Cork’s 17-year tradition of making wine approachable, educational, and community-driven.
The pop-up at Duke’s Counter is free to attend. Guests are invited to arrive early to enjoy the tasting, explore food pairings, and meet the teams behind two of DC’s most beloved institutions.
